John R. Crone, Partner
John R. Crone graduated from the Sturm College of Law, University of Denver in 2012. While at the University of Denver, Mr. Crone clerked for The Law Offices of Gary M. Gilbert, P.C. where he gained broad based experience in navigating the unique landscape of representing federal sector employers and employees. This included experience before the United States Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and the Merit Systems Protection Board. Also during law school, Mr. Crone interned with the United States Department of Labor, participating in enforcement actions pursuant to the Mine Safety and Health Act, the Occupational Safety and Health Act, and the Fair Labor Standards Act. Rounding out a law school experience in which Mr. Crone sought to pair a theoretical education with practical experience, he spent one year in his law school's Civil Litigation Clinic, primarily litigating a complex Title VII discrimination case, as well as representing numerous individuals seeking personal protection orders and resolving landlord and tenant disputes.
Upon graduation from law school in 2012, Mr. Crone accepted a position with a full service private law firm in Anchorage, Alaska. In this capacity, he gained experience litigating a diverse range of legal issues including complex areas such as bankruptcy, bid protests, construction, employment, securities, sovereign immunity, regulatory compliance, as well as conducting appellate work before the Alaska Supreme Court. He also participated in numerous cases utilizing alternative dispute resolution measures including mediation and arbitration. Importantly, Mr. Crone gained experience in proactive areas of law, that is, in reaching his clients’ goals in such a way as to avoid future dispute and litigation. This included business planning and advice, both at formation and during operation, as well as assisting in the transfer of property and drafting accounting reports to ensure harmony between the various components of an operating business entity. Mr. Crone has assisted business entities of all sizes and forms, with a particular emphasis on today’s entity of choice – the limited liability company.
At the end of 2014, Mr. Crone moved back to Colorado to focus his practice on his primary areas of interest: assisting employees achieve fairness and justice in the workplace and assisting businesses in all areas of legal compliance. No matter the type of representation, Mr. Crone is singularly focused on achieving results for his clients as efficiently and cost effectively as possible. Mr. Crone is currently licensed to practice law in Colorado and Alaska.
